The Riverview Witnesses: The Dedication
Meet Akira.
A 16-year-old Jehovah’s Witness. She hasn’t been in the truth long, but has been progressing well due to the support of her family, friends and most of all, her God, Jehovah. Just recently, Akira and one of her closest friends, Thomas, have decided to make the most important decision of their lives. Baptism. And the announcement is well-received by all. But as always, there will be obstacles. And for her, it comes in the form of a student whose question about the Witnesses never seems to get answered due to the fact that she and Akira are always interrupted by someone or something. Meanwhile, growing doubts about himself and Jehovah have caused Thomas to become depressed and he starts to distance himself from his friends, family and his God. And Akira is trying to handle both situations on her own. That, plus a school project has some of the teens, Akira and Thomas included, under a quite a bit of stress. Will Akira be able to get the help she needs before she snaps under the pressure? And will Thomas be able to pull himself together before it’s too late? |

While one side is being torn apart, another side is coming together and neither for the right reasons.
More and more, Jordan finds himself in the middle of arguments between his parents. Respectfully, he keeps his distance, but as his family situation gets worse, the young man closes himself off from the others, trying to find strength within… Meanwhile, Émilienne has found a rather interesting acquaintance in a boy from school who seems to be interested in the Bible. The more they meet, the closer they get and she starts to ignore her head instead of heart when she agrees to a proposition from him… As both rely on their own understanding, they fail to seek out the help they need as they try to pull through on their own experiences. When things start to come to a head, will they turn back to Jehovah and their friends before it’s too late? |
